I love first time. I want my entire life to be composed of them. 
Life is only interesting if life is wide.

First thought, best thought.

What we have, darlings and demoselles, is a circle, 
Life is round, patterns, routines, a wheel of self-abuse.

Be careful, you are not in wonderland. 
I've heard the strange madness long growing in your soul, 
but you're fortunate in your ignorance, in your isolation.
You who have suffered find where love hides, 
Give, 
Share, 
Lose,
Lest we die unbloomed.

Some things, once you've loved them, become yours forever. And if you try to let them go. They only circle back and return to you. They become part of who you are.
Or they destroy you.

Another lovers hits the universe. The circle is broken. But with death comes rebirth.
And like all lovers and sad people, I am a poet.

비트 세대(Beat Generation). 대공황이 할퀴고 간 상실의 시대(lost era)에 태어나 제2차세계대전을 직접 겪어낸 세대. 그들의 저항적이고 감각적인 아우라를 담아낸 영화.
영화를 통해 그들의 자유로운 청춘과 그 파격적인 섬멸을 간접 경험할 수 있었다.

이러나 저러나 주인공은 앨런 긴즈버그와 루시엔 카라고 할 수 있다. 좀 더 매력적인 인물은 루시엔 카다. 긴즈버그 시각에서 흘러가는 영화이기 때문인 까닭도 있겠지만.
루시엔 카를 마냥 미워할 수 없는 건 데인 드한의 퇴폐미가 범접할 수 없는 절정에 이르렀기 때문만은 아니다. 뭐랄까, 가지지 못한 재능을 향한 몸부림 같은 게 느껴졌기 때문이기도 하고, 바스라질듯 섬세한 멘탈에 대한 보호 본능이 작용했기 때문이랄까.

앨런 긴즈버그랑 시 몇 편 밖에 제대로 읽어보진 못했는데 잭 캐루악도 다시 정독해봐야겠다.
